Where does quality sit in production?
Inspected at fixed points, line to carton.
Inspection sequence
Agreed AQL
- 01
- In-line and end-line inspection
- 02
- Measurement and fit audits
- 03
- Final random inspection before dispatch
The inspection sequence, drawn from the quality capability.
Input, process, output.
What arrives at quality assurance, what happens to it, and what leaves for the next stage.
- 01
Input
- 01.1Your quality manual or specification, where you have one
- 01.2Approved counter sample
- 01.3Measurement chart and tolerances
- 01.4The AQL agreed for the programme
- 02
Process
- 01
Inline
- 02
Measurement audit
- 03
Fit check
- 04
End-line
- 05
Final random inspection
- 06
Packing check
- 03
Output
A lot that has passed final random inspection against the agreed AQL.
Why it matters
Inspection at the end alone finds defects after they have been made in quantity. Checks on the line, at the end of the line and before dispatch find them while they are still cheap to correct.
Quality Assurance, specified
Quality Assurance: what we do, your part, the check and the deliverable
- What we do
- 01Agree the AQL and the inspection points with you before bulk
- 02Inspect on the line and at the end of the line
- 03Audit measurements and fit against the approved sample
- 04Inspect partner-unit output to the same standard as the in-house lines
- 05Draw a final random sample before dispatch
- Buyer involvement
- You set or agree the specification and the AQL, and can add your own or a third-party inspection where the programme calls for one.
- Quality check
- Final random inspection before dispatch, against the AQL agreed for the programme.
- Deliverable
- An inspected, passed lot, released to packing.
The full system has its own page.
Every checkpoint, how inspection is run, the AQL agreed for each programme and the audit visit are set out on the quality page.
